Chairman's Address - Annual General Meeting

Welcome to the Fourth Annual General Meeting since becoming a public listed company for Heron Resources NL.

As you will see from reading the 2000 Annual Report, the past year has been both hectic and rewarding for your Board, but more so for the management and staff.

The technical achievements during the year have been second to none, and have resulted in total Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resources of over 400 million tonne at 0.8% Ni for a 0.5% Ni cut-off, and over 180 million tonne at over 1% Ni for a 0.75% Ni cut-off.

Ongoing evaluation continues to improve the resources, which reinforces the potential influence your Company's properties may have on the expanding Nickel Laterite Industry.

A Part C takeover bid received last February from Centaur Mining & Exploration Limited proved to be extremely time consuming, however it did serve to acknowledge and reinforce the importance of Heron to the Nickel Laterite Industry.

Tenement acquisition and exploration activities continued throughout the year, the details of which are comprehensively outlined in the Annual Report.

Your Board continues to strive for growth for our Shareholders, and will carry forward that objective and pursue it rigorously during the coming year.

I make mention of the high standard of presentation of this year's Annual Report and to the students of the East Kalgoorlie Primary School whose wonderful art is reproduced throughout the Report.

I again pay tribute to Ian Buchhorn and his staff for the dedication and very hard work and for a job well done.
